Our Process
This outline is by no means all inclusive of our web design process. Some clients require more planning, others less. But the following will give you a straightforward overview of how we handle our web design projects and what you can expect when working with us.
1. Understanding Your Website Needs
Our very first step is to learn about your website needs. Whether via email or over the phone, we will ask you a series of questions so we can define the project scope. We will need to know if this is a personal or business site, target audience, programming needs, project budget and your requested launch date among other things. We will also ask questions to understand your expectations of the website once it’s completed.
2. Providing a Cost Estimate
Once we have defined the initial scope of the project, we will present you with your cost estimate and timeframe for completion.
3. Contracting with Site Grind
Based upon your acceptance of our cost estimate, you will be required to sign a standard contract agreement and submit your first payment in an amount equal to one third of the total estimated project cost.
4. Design Composition
After we have received your signed contract and first payment, we will conduct a design interview and develop your design composition. Once you’ve had an opportunity to review the initial design you will then have the option to approve the image and move forward, or request our designer to make revisions. Once you are satisfied with the composition, your second payment in an amount equal to one third of the total estimated project cost (plus hosting charges if applicable) will be due before work continues.
5. Website Build
Now that the design has been approved and second payment received, we will begin building the site’s structure and pages. We will also request you to furnish all textual content and any images at this time. At completion of the build, the website will be presented to you on one of our demo servers for review.
6. Final Development
Almost finished! You’re now able to see your website live and interact with it as a viewer would. Once you’ve approved this live version we will request your final payment.
7. Deployment
Having received your final payment, we will transfer your new website to your host provider, perform a final check of the site and furnish you with all design and code files.
8. Ongoing Maintenance
If at any time you require updates, upgrades, redesign or basic maintenance on your site, just let us know!
